About us
Mission and story
At Cindy Dance Academy, we believe every dancer deserves a strong foundation, a nurturing environment, and the opportunity to shine. Our mission is to develop confident, disciplined, and expressive individuals through high-quality dance education—while keeping the joy of movement at the heart of everything we do.
Founded in 2015 by Cindy Rengan, a passionate educator with over 25 years of teaching experience, CDA was born from Cindy's vision to create a vibrant, inclusive academy where students grow not just as dancers, but as individuals. After launching her first school in 2006, Cindy reimagined dance education to foster technical excellence, creativity, and community.
Today, CDA is a trusted name in Kowloon’s dance community, welcoming students of all ages - from toddlers taking their first steps to teens training for the stage and adults rediscovering the joy of dance. Whether it's RAD Ballet, ATOD Jazz. Hip Hop or K-Pop, our focus remains the same foundation, confidence and community.

PRINCIPAL & FOUNDER
Cindy Rengan
With over 25 years of teaching experience, Cindy Rengan is the founder and guiding force behind Cindy Dance Academy. A certified instructor in both the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Australian Teachers of Dance (ATOD) syllabi, she has nurtured generations of dancers across Malaysia and Hong Kong - many of whom began their journey with her as young beginners and blossomed under her mentorship.
Cindy's dance academy was shaped by esteemed mentors Ms Jean M. Wong and Ms Anna Chan. Her distinction - earning RAD Teaching Diploma reflects not only her technical mastery but also her lifelong dedication to the art of dance.
A pioneer in holistic dance education, Cindy is Hong Kong's first certified Move Assure Wellbeing Coach, underscoring her philosophy that dance transcends technique - it builds confidence, resilience, and joy. Her classes, tailored for children, teens, and adults (including the Silver Swans Programme), harmonized physical skill with emotional growth, fostering artistry at every age and stage.
Beyond the studio, Cindy collaborates with schools, NGOs, and special needs communities to share dance's transformative power, creating spaces where movement inspires connection and wellbeing.
To her students and their families, Cindy is more than a teacher - she is a mentor, a role model, and the heart of dance studio that feels like home.

Our teaching philosophy
Technique is the Foundation
We emphasize proper training in recognized syllabi like RAD and ATOD to ensure each student develops safely, consistently, and with integrity.
Every Student Matters
Whether a child dreams of becoming a professional or is just dancing for fun, we give each student the same respect, attention, and encouragement.
Joy Drives Progress
We believe learning should be joyful. Our classes are structured and challenging—but always full of energy, creativity, and fun.
Dance Builds Life Skills
Discipline, resilience, teamwork, confidence—these are values we teach through movement. What our students learn here stays with them far beyond the studio.
